Alexa Adamo Valverde

Managing Director, Programs & Strategy, Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Alexa Adamo Valverde, MS, MA, LCMHC, LPC (she/her) is a seasoned nonprofit executive, mental health therapist, and social innovation strategist committed to fostering individual and community well-being within equitable and supportive systems. Her career is marked by a commitment to empowering trauma survivors and addressing systemic oppression through coordinated community responses.

As a trauma-informed, healing-centered psychotherapist, Alexa serves youth, families and adults through neuro-narrative and neurosequential play therapies, incorporating somatic and mindfulness-based approaches. She has extensive training in trauma-focused therapies (CBT, DBT, Narrative Exposure Therapy), narrative therapy, and play therapy (Child-centered, Adlerian, Theraplay, sand tray therapy). She integrates narrative and play therapies in her work with clients across the lifespan.

As C4CC’s Co-Founder and Managing Director, Programs & Strategy, Alexa brings her passion and expertise in leading diverse community interventions to co-create C4CC’s prevention-focused, holistic mental health model - together with youth, families, collaborative partners, and our interprofessional team. Transforming C4CC from an idea into a sustainable, replicable force for youth and family connection, belonging, and well-being has been and continues to be a deeply fulfilling experience.

Alexa is a “triple Panther” with an undergraduate degree in women’s, gender and sexuality studies, and theatre, and graduate degrees in clinical mental health counseling and women’s, gender and sexuality studies, with a concentration in community psychology, all from Georgia State University in Atlanta. In addition to all things related to C4CC - mental health, social justice, youth empowerment, and cultivating community, Alexa cares deeply about supporting women and couples on the journey to grow their families (through infertility, pregnancy loss, IVF, adoption), loving her family, being a Mom (to her children and big goofy dog), writing poetry, spirituality, music, and kayaking.
